NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN, that two public hearings will be held by the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Athens, Greene County, New York on January 24th, 2024 at 6:30PM prior to the regular Village Board Meeting for the purpose of accepting public comment on proposed local law #1 which would establish a new schedule of Real Property Tax Exemptions for persons 65 years of age or older and persons with disabilities and limited incomes. The Board will also hear comments on proposed local law #2 authorizing the Village of Athens to hold hybrid public meetings and hearings. The public hearings and Village Board Meeting will take place at the Village Office at 2 First St. Copies of the proposed laws are available at the Village Clerk’s office at 2 First St., Athens, NY 12015.

Comments will not be accepted on this post. Comments submitted after 3pm the day of the hearing may not be received in time for inclusion at the hearing.
