Current Bidding Opportunities: 2024 Community Forestry Grant

Welcome to the Village of Athens procurement portal. This page serves as the central hub for active Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to our 2024 Community Forestry Management Plan Implementation Grant, funded by the NYS DEC. We invite qualified vendors to review the technical specifications and mandatory qualifications for our current initiatives.

We are currently accepting independent proposals for the following three project sections:

• Tree and Stump Removal: Includes the removal village trees, stump grinding to 10 inches below grade, and full site restoration.
• Tree Pruning: Focused on improving the health and safety public trees through professional crown cleaning, structural pruning, and elevation.
• Education and Tree Inventory: Requires an ISA Certified Arborist to inventory Village trees and lead professional-level community workshops.

Please be advised that the fourth section of this grant work, Tree Procurement and Planting, is expected to be released for bidding in late summer.
