In order to address recent instances of water discoloration, we are having both of the village’s water tanks cleaned. Cleaning is taking place today (8/10/23). Once tank cleaning/maintenance has been completed, the Village of Athens Department of Public Works will be performing regular hydrant flushing. We expect this to occur late in the day today and tomorrow, August 10th – 11th and resume next week, August 16th – 17th.
Some residents may experience turbidity and/or discoloration in their water. You should refrain from doing white laundry on these days.
