On Tuesday, the altitude valve that feeds the water tank on Dogwood Ln. failed. This caused localized discoloration of water for some users on Schoharie Tpke. Our water crew manually throttled the valve until a technician could make it to the scene to repair the valve. And some flushing was performed to clear the lines.
Unfortunately, the repair did not hold, so some residents have been noticing discoloration into today. The valve is being worked manually again to help clear the discoloration. The technician is scheduled to return tomorrow to replace the valve’s pilot.
The water is safe, just discolored. If you experience any issues with pressure or discoloration, please report them through the Village Clerk’s office. Or email using this link.
