State of Emergency Declared for the Village of Athens

The mayor has declared a state of emergency for the Village of Athens due to excessive rainfall. There is potential for flooding, road damage and other infrastructure damage. This declaration is effective beginning at 10pm on Tuesday, July 28th. This state of emergency will run for five days (through 10pm on August 2nd) unless it is extended.

Please take all precautions and stay safe until weather conditions have improved. Greene County is establishing temporary evacuation shelters. If you need shelter, call the Emergency Operations Center at (518)622-4225.
