Dear Neighbors,
In June 2020, the Village Board (VB) created a Conservation Advisory Council (CAC).
The purpose of the CAC is to advise the VB on environmental issues such as:
–trees in the Village
–appropriate stewardship of Village environmental resources
–environmental sustainability and resilience in Athens
–other environmental issues impacting the Village as they arise
The VB is looking for three Village resident volunteers to replace members who are no longer able to serve. Time obligation is a one and one-half hour meeting the third Thursday of most months, and reading and replying to a few emails between meetings. The monthly meetings are virtual, via Zoom.
If you are interested in being considered for membership on the CAC, please send a letter of interest to the Village Board with the following information:
–name
–address
–phone number
–email address
–your interest in working on the CAC
–your background in environmental sciences, civil engineering, environmental law, land use planning or other area related to the mission or scope of the CAC
–your experience working cooperatively in collegial groups or committees
–any other information you think would be helpful
Letters may be mailed or hand-delivered to Athens Village Board, 2 First Street, Athens, NY 12015 or emailed to the Village Clerk.
