Please Practice Voluntary Water Conservation

Hello Neighbors,

We’ve received some reports of a swampy or dirt-like odor from some water customers recently. This is due to low reservoir levels which exacerbates issues of odor. This occurs annually, but has come early this year. Adjustments have been made at the water treatment plant which have helped and our team will keep working and adjusting in order to mitigate the problem. The issues are purely aesthetic, chemical levels and turbidity is good. Water is testing fine. Please continue to report issues to the Village Clerk’s Office to help with mitigation.

At this time, practicing voluntary water conservation efforts would be incredibly helpful. Please limit watering lawns, washing cars, pressure washing buildings, landscaping, etc., as much as possible. Here’s a link to some additional tips on conservation from the DEC.

Thank you!
