The Town of Athens is holding a public hearing on July 18th at 7pm at the AVFD to hear public comment on their use of eminent domain to acquire a piece of property for the purpose of building a new Town Hall. The legal notice from page B4 of the July 12 edition of the Catskill Daily Mail is below.
I neglected to comment earlier to this. Since then I have submitted my letter vehemently opposing eminent domain to Supervisor Mike Pirrone, cc all Council members and Linda Stacey. I was at the July 18 meeting. This is appalling.
