Water Issue Update: 7/24/24

Good Afternoon,

Yesterday, the cleaning of our two clear wells was completed. The process went smoothly and everything is looking good on that front.

Unfortunately, early this morning our operators were made aware of a low pressure situation out on Schoharie Tpke., near the Peckham facility. This usually indicates a leak or water main break. While investigating the problem, crews determined that the low pressure situation was caused by water that escaped in the process of a necessary valve repair.

This was caught quickly so disruptions should remain localized. When I spoke to our staff this morning they had already corrected the problem. However, we did have some brown water make its way into the Dogwood Lane tank. This could set us back a bit but we will not know how widespread the disruption is, if any, for a few hours. If you experience any issues with pressure or discoloration, please report them through the Village Clerk’s office.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding.

Amy
